Entry Fee: This year's entry fee will be waived if contestants participate in our group Community Outreach Project with Support Sacks.
*Support Sacks is a charitable organization that supports women and girls with substance use disorder. The Support Sacks donated contain feminine hygiene products, and other items to help them feel supported and accepted. These Sacks will be going out with various community outreach programs to get women and girls into recovery. Each day we lose 200 Americans to a drug overdose, making this the number one cause of death under the age of 50 in our country. Let's work together to make an impact on this epidemic.

RULES:
1) Participation in the group Community Outreach Project is your entry fee. The contestant will have two options for participation. Our local sponsoring charity is Support Sacks. This is a local charitable organization that supports women and girls with substance use disorder. Each contestant will be donating a Support Sack to assist local women and girls in Camden County. Explanation of this volunteer service is below:
*Option 1 for participation= Stuff a Sack event located at 408 Paris Avenue, Brooklawn NJ 08030, on October 14th from 6:30-7:30pm. This is a casual group event for contestants (parents welcome.) The contestants will bring their own items to stuff the sack with. The director will provide the sacks. Please visit the Support Sacks website at www.supportsacks.org and click on How to Stuff a Sack for the list of items to chose from for your Support Sack donations. You do not have to provide each item just enough items to fill the Sack. Your donation must include a journal and a short inspirational message should be on the first page.
*If you can not attend the group Stuff a Sack event you can bring your completed stuffed Support Sack with you the day of the Brooklawn Fall Festival Royalty Competition. Please let the director know this in advance. The director purchased the Sacks specifically for the contestants so you can get the Sack from the director for your donations.
*The contestants will be bringing their Support Sacks up on stage during the competition and they will be asked about their favorite item inside that they donated and why they enjoy volunteering. Tiny Miss will not be bringing their Support Sacks on stage and will not be asked the on-stage question, hover they will still donate a Support Sack.

2) Line-Up: The first contestant to enter will go last in her age division; the second contestant to enter will go second to last in her age division and so on. A contestant is considered “entered” after she has submitted a completed form and paid in full.
3) Deadline to Enter: The deadline to enter the pageant is October 1, 2019
a. We will accept a maximum of 10 contestants per division for the pageant. Once the division has 10 registered contestants, regardless of the deadline, no additional contestants will be accepted.
b. Please do not hold a spot in the division if you are not certain you can compete. This may take an opportunity from a contestant that wants to compete if the division fills up.
c. Please enter early to ensure your spot.
d. There will be no exceptions to the entry deadline.
4) Age Division Rules:
a. Age division is determined based upon your age on the day of the event.
5) Residency: There is no residency requirement. If you are willing to travel and enjoy the Brooklawn Fall Festival, we are happy to have you join in the fun of the pageant!
6) Character: Contestant should be of good moral character and shall not have been arrested or convicted of a felony and/or a drug or DUI related misdemeanor. Queens who violate this rule during their year will be removed as queen and agree to forfeit their prizes to the first runner up.
8) Re-Competing: No re-competing restrictions, However, we do ask you to not compete the following year if you are a competition winner. You must sit out for 1 year if you are a winner. We also ask that you return to the following Brooklawn Fall Festival Royalty Competition to make an appearance as outgoing Royalty.
9) Competition: Each contestant will compete in a beauty walk while wearing fun fall fashion. There will also be an on-stage speech.
a. On stage speech: Each contestant (excluding Tiny Miss contestants only) may use approximately 30 seconds to answer the questions from the Emcee: What is your favorite item that you donated in your Support Sack? Why do you enjoy volunteering? This could refer to any volunteering that the girls participate in.
c. Beauty Walk – contestants should walk from one side of the stage to the other after she completes her speech. Contestants should stop and pose on the left side, center, and right side of the stage before exiting the stage. Beauty walk should not take more than 30 seconds.
10) Makeup:
a. Contestants who are 8 years old or younger should not wear makeup, except clear lip gloss and mascara.
b. Contestants who are 11 years old or older should wear age-appropriate makeup.
11) Judging:
a. 1-5 points for poise and personality during speech
b. 1-5 points for poise, grace, and beauty during beauty walk
c. All judging decisions are final.
12) Clothing: Please wear weather appropriate clothing that is stylish and cute. You should not have to change clothes after the pageant to enjoy the Festival. Jeans and a cute jacket with a scarf would make a great competition outfit. Please remember that the pageant is held outside on the waterfront stage and it will be chilly in October.
13) Prizes: Each contestant will be awarded a tiara and sash.
a. The winner receives a satin sash, larger crown, flower bouquet, $100 bank card, and gifts from the director.
14) Timing: The pageant will last approximately one hour.
a. Please come to the pageant 60 minutes prior to the pageant so that we can run through a quick on-stage walk rehearsal and volunteers can assist with getting contestants in line for competition.
b. Please be prompt! We are on a tight schedule and cannot guarantee that you will have the opportunity to compete if you come late.
15) Things to know:
a. This is a light-hearted and FUN event.
b. We want the girls to feel special, no matter where they rank after the competition. This is why we reward every contestant with a tiara and a sash.
c. We encourage you to wear your tiara and sash while you enjoy the rest of your day at the fall festival.
d. The Brooklawn Fall Festival will be taking place that day so some local streets will be closed off to vehicles so arrive early enough to park.
e. Our primary goals are to have fun and increase the number of people that attend the Brooklawn Fall Festival. Our Royalty may be asked to attend any local events and fundraisers.
f. The Brooklawn Fall Festival Royalty Competiton is prohibited from earning ANY profit. All Fees associated are used towards prize packages and the cost of the crowns and sashes. Every person involved with the pageant is a volunteer and no person earns an income of any kind.
16) By entering the competition, contestants release the organizers and participants of this pageant and the Brooklawn Fall Festival of any liability related to an injury occurring to, during, and from the competition.
